| A Blessing way, or Mother Blessing, was traditionally a Navajo ceremony during which the women of the village would gather in a circle and prepare the expectant mother for her journey toward childbirth and motherhood. They would tell birth stories and give personal gifts. This ceremony is different than a baby shower because it is geared more toward the expectant mother than the baby and baby gifts, although it can be incorporated into a baby shower. ~ more |
